Eating Out: Mr. Tom Yam

 Mr. Tom Yam Fire Pot for 2 pax (RM 19.90++)

I have always been a fan of Tom Yam. They're (almost) everywhere in Malaysia. But, finding a good Tom Yam restaurant is not that easy. So, the last time my friends and I went to Sunway Giza and spotted Mr. Tom Yam, we decided to give it a try. Seeing that the restaurant been using Tom Yam as the restaurant name, we thought that the restaurant might serve one of the best Tom Yam in the city.

Oh, boy... we were wrong! The Tom Yam soup is not to what we've been expected. I think that the soup is not that spicy. (That's funny, as many bloggers been saying that their dishes are spicy. My spiciness level must be a bit too high, huh?) Slurping the soup straight from the pot is a bit upsetting as the soup is a little bit too salty. But once the soup is eaten with the fragrant steamed rice, it's alright.

Spicy Spaghetti with Seafood (RM 15.00++)

My friend ordered this Spicy Spaghetti with Seafood. Once delivered, we were wondering whether it is spaghetti or noodle. I mean, it sure did looked like stir fried noodle. My friend was so convinced that they used noodle until I took a bite and confirmed that they did used spaghetti. (￣▽￣)

Picnic at Sungai Gabai, Hulu Langat

My friends and I went for a picnic a few days ago. We wanted to have fun at a waterfall spot after having so much fun barbecuing at Gold Coast, Sepang. My friend suggested us to go to Sungai Gabai which is located in Hulu Langat. I was a bit excited as I haven't visit any waterfall spot for years.

We had to climb all the way up! My friend said that the scenery is way better up there, and we could go for waterfall sliding! We didn't get the chance to try for the water sliding, however. It was crowded with lots of people! But it was fun watching them trying out various stunts, while snacking.

I bought some Black Pepper Chicken and Mushroom in Pitas, Beef Meatballs (which is requested by Jijah.) and some Sarawak's Layered Cheese Cake for desserts.

Jijah bought some Curry Puff, Fried Chicken, and some Macaroni (which is made by her mother). Those macaroni looked and tasted good! We loved it!

Qilla bought some sardine sandwiches, which is prepared by her mother. A must have snack while picnicking! :D

Ina bought some Chicken Croquettes. It tasted good too! I couldn't really tell what's the ingredients, though...

I went back to our spot after playing in the water and was shocked when I saw a snake nearby! The snake was pretty though... It was blue in color and its head and tails was orange. We decided to wait until the snake disappear, went back to our spot, pack up our things, and go back home.

Barbecue in Gold Coast, Sepang

Last week, my friends and I went to have barbecue. Well, it's Azizah's birthday, and my friends were longing to play around the beach. So, we decided to head to Gold Coast, Sepang. It took us about an hour to start the fire due to the strong winds. We ran out of matches, and borrowed a lighter from a passerby (;´ρ`).  We're famished!

This was supposed to be a mini burger. It's marinated with salt, pepper and garlic. But I guess, it turned into a meatball （　´∀｀）.

Who can resist the goodness of grilled cherry tomatoes and those button mushrooms? The mushrooms were marinated with oil, and oregano. It tasted real good! Ｏ(≧∇≦)Ｏ

Those fish fillet was marinated with bay leaves, oregano, tomato paste, oil, vinegar, and onions. I got the recipe while I was doing a practical training in Brazilian Kitchen.

The must have ingredients in barbecuing - Chicken! It's marinated with lemon juice, oil, salt and chili pepper.

I'm experimenting to grill some baby carrots. I was supposed to marinate them and bake them in aluminum foil. But, I forgot to do that. It turned out quite well too~

Eating Out: Saad Char Kuey Teow @ Seksyen 7, Shah Alam

A few weeks ago, my friend and I went past this cute Char Kuey Teow shop in Seksyen 7, Shah Alam, called 'Saad Char Kuey Teow'. The outlet used to be somewhere at the food court in Jalan Plumbum. Now, they moved to a shoplot which is located near the Seksyen 7 lake. It starts operating after 5, I think... 

 

My friends find that the signs was cute! There's a couple of prawns attached on the clock.

Somehow, this shop's furnishing reminds me to 'Fullhouse'. But, of course, 'Fullhouse' is much cuter. Ｏ(≧∇≦)Ｏ They're quite famous too! They are always packed with customers. If you didn't come early, there's a possibility that you might not get a seat.

I've been a Char Kuey Teow fan since I lived in Penang a few years ago. I've always liked the wet-style Char Kuey Teow as compared to the dried one. What I loved about Saad's Char Kuey Teow was the freshness and sweetness of their prawns. The Kuey Teow wasn't that bad either! If you like wet-style Char Kuey Teow, you're going to love their Kuey Teow as well. (￣▽￣)

However, if you went to Saad's Char Kuey Teow, I would suggest you to order the Special Char Kuey Teow instead of the normal size one. You will get one fried egg on top on your Kuey Teow, a bit extra of those noodles and prawn with an addition of RM0.50!

However, in my opinion, the service isn't that good. The foods was a bit late (later than 15 minutes is considered late, right?). Some of the server wasn't friendly at all. There was once when a server rolled his eyes when we called him. I wasn't happy with that server at all! （￣へ￣） But, of course,  not all of their server was like that. Some of them was nice too.

They also serve many types of other foods. From top: Prawn Fried Rice, Cantonese Kuey Teow, and Omelet Rice or Nasi Pattaya.

Eating Out: Sticky Candy

Whenever I went passed Sticky, I’ve always thought that it was a marshmallow shop. I mean, it is always crowded with people who wanted to see the live cooking show. So, I’ve never seen what the shop is about until recently. It turns out that Sticky is a homemade candy shop! (´･ω･｀)

The shop mainly sells candy in a bottle jar. It's very interesting to see all those candies. There's so many different shapes, patterns, colors and flavors. We get to sample a few types of candies as well. They tasted quite good, and it wasn't that sweet. So, you may get addicted from eating those candies. The most interesting thing is that they also sell candies for special occasions, such as birthdays and weddings.

My friend bought a bottle of those candies as a present for a friend.
