Pocky & m&m's Chocolate Cake

I made this for my cousin's daughter's birthday. It's chocolate cake frosted with chocolate Swiss meringue butter cream. The sides (or flaws) were lined with chocolate Pocky sticks and the top was sprinkled with mini m&m's. I think the kids will love this.

Although, admittedly, I wrongly read the recipes and had reduced the sugar to half. (^///^)

Can you guess how many boxes of Pocky and tubes of mini m&m did I use for the cake?

Experimenting: Chocolate Flavored Marshmallow

I bought a candy thermometer a few months ago to start off my candy making experiment. And last week, I finally got the chance to use them to make some chocolate flavored marshmallow. (If you remember, last year, I've experimented with Chocolate Dipped Marshmallow)

And here's the final result! The marshmallow was a bit flat - I should use a smaller baking tray to mold them next time! I wasn't really happy with the marshmallow. I guess, they were a bit too soft - it melts in your mouth. Maybe I should add in less liquid next time. I'm going to continue experimenting this until I get the recipe right.

Experimenting: Chocolate Dipped Marshmallow

The last time we went back to JB, my aunt mentioned that she saw someone selling marshmallow dipped with chocolate. My mother thought I should try and experimenting them. So, I browse through my recipe book, and find a recipe of marshmallow.

The recipe was quite easy, but the cutting and dipping process was quite messy!

Waiting for the marshmallow to set! Isn't it beautiful?

So, I was supposed to drag those marshmallow onto the cornstarch/confectioners sugar mixture, but, yeah, it was so sticky, and look what happened to it! Folded!

Lets take a closer look! Yummy!

The marshmallow was cut, and dragged onto the confectioners sugar/cornstarch mixture.

Marshmallow on stick! Ready to be dip.

And... The final product! It was fun making these, although the process was quite messy! I should revise the recipe again sometimes, as this one was quite sweet!

I had a few more marshmallows, and decided to add it all into the hot chocolate. It dissolve quickly, that it didn't even looked like marshmallow anymore. lol

Eating Out: Sticky Candy

Whenever I went passed Sticky, I’ve always thought that it was a marshmallow shop. I mean, it is always crowded with people who wanted to see the live cooking show. So, I’ve never seen what the shop is about until recently. It turns out that Sticky is a homemade candy shop! (´・ω・`)

The shop mainly sells candy in a bottle jar. It's very interesting to see all those candies. There's so many different shapes, patterns, colors and flavors. We get to sample a few types of candies as well. They tasted quite good, and it wasn't that sweet. So, you may get addicted from eating those candies. The most interesting thing is that they also sell candies for special occasions, such as birthdays and weddings.

The raspberry flavored candies. It cost us RM 5, for a pack of cut-off (I think it's rejected due to the shape) candies. (^~^)

My friend bought a bottle of those candies as a present for a friend.
