Cream Cheese Frosting

I love red velvet cake ever since I discovered its existence. And I've been searching for a recipe for cream cheese frosting to go with this red velvet cake. I like it cheesy and not too sweet. I've been experimenting with  various recipes and version of cream cheese frosting. And most of the recipes would be too sweet for my taste.

And, I found this cream cheese frosting recipes. The texture is soft and fluffy (somewhat like meringue butter cream, I think). It's not overly sweet. And, I could eat this frosting straight from spoon. It goes really well with carrot cakes too!

Cream Cheese Frosting

250g cream cheese
125g butter
350g confectioners' sugar
1tsp vanilla essence

In a medium bowl, cream together cream cheese and butter until light and creamy. Mix in vanilla essence and gradually stir in confectioners' sugar.
